The use of PebblePad as the supported ePortfolio tool is being discontinued at the end of 2012.
New MyLO includes an ePortfolio and this will become the supported software for students and staff from January 2013. The new MyLO ePortfolio is already available to staff and students who have an active UTAS username and password.
Current users of PebblePad who wish to continue to access their ePortfolio content are encouraged to either activate a personal PebblePad account (free for the first year) and/or migrate their content into the new system.
PebblePad is being discontinued in order to focus support on an ePortfolio tool that integrates directly with other new MyLO tools, rather than maintaining a separate system.
If you do not take any action you will not be able to access your account when they close (31 December 2012 with a 2-month grace period). This means that any material you have stored in your PebblePad account will not be accessible to you beyond 1 March 2013.
It is important that you review the content of your PebblePad account and take steps to ensure you continue to have access to any material you wish to keep. (Note that PebblePad support will cease on 19 December 2012.)
Consider exporting your content and backing it up for possible later use. See the ePortfolio migration page for more details.
For assistance with matters relating to your study (for students) or teaching (for staff) contact Ben Cleland from Tasmanian Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT).
For help with account creation and content migration contact the ITR Service Desk.
Options 1 & 2
PebblePad account users are able to convert their UTAS PebblePad account into a personal account. The account is free for the first year and incurs a small fee (around $45 / year) after that.
For information on how to set up the account see: Instructions on activating a personal account.
This option requires two steps:
There are also some screencasts to help understand the process:
The first step can be used to export content as a back up for later use if required.
Instructions on how to export and import content can be found here: Migration information.
If you do not have any content in PebblePad that you want to keep, you can start collecting material in your new MyLO ePortfolio. Any student or staff member with an active UTAS username and password can access new MyLO and its ePortfolio tool. Relevant information can be found here:
