ePortfolio migration

This page has been created to provide support for PebblePad users in 2012 who want to export content from their PebblePad account and import material into the new MyLO ePortfolio.

The export option can also be used to keep a copy of PebblePad ePortfolio content for your personal use at a later date.

PebblePad accounts will close on December 31 2012 (with a grace period of two months). Support will cease on 19 December 2012.

Content migration process

The process is undertaken in two steps:

1) Export content from PebblePad

2) Import content into new MyLO ePortfolio

ePortfolios typically contain a variety of file types such as, word documents, PDFs, images, web links and other online content such as thoughts, reflections and achievements. This makes transferring content between ePortfolios complex. It is your decision as to how much and what content you wish to migrate. You may choose to only export the content and keep a back-up of the files. Or you may choose to migrate the entire ePortfolio content. There are some steps that can be taken which will make the process easier:

  • Review the content in your PebblePad ePortfolio. You might find old content that you no longer require or become reacquainted with items you wish to keep.
  • Give yourself enough time to sort through the content. Support will cease on 19 December 2012 due to the Christmas break. So, try not to leave it until the last minute. (If you need more time to export the content it is possible to retain your PebblePad account by activating a personal account. This is free for the first year.   • Review the export options: PebblePad support outlines them here.
  • Do a test run. Understanding the process might help with reviewing the content.
