About
The UTAS Survey tool is an open source product by Lime Survey available for use by UTAS staff.
Lime Survey allows users to quickly create intuitive, powerful, online question-and-answer surveys without any great technical knowledge or effort. The survey software itself is self-guiding for the respondents who are participating.
How to access
- To access the survey system, request support online or email servicedesk@utas.edu.au with the following details:

- Username, Firstname, Surname, Survey Name and a copy of authorisation from head of school/section.
- An automated email will be sent to your address with login/access details. Note that the survey username and password is not linked to the UTAS username and password system.
- Survey design is limited to a single template complying with the current UTAS visual standard.
- Survey permissions are fully customisable to enable different users to: create/view/read and export surveys, or simply view statistics only.
- Surveys can be set to public access or restricted to a user group done by the importing of user list.

Support
- Request support online or email Service Desk.
- Web Services provides basic support only for access and usage of the survey software.
- Once a staff member has access, it is expected they will be able to create and edit surveys without requiring technical assistance.
