The University's current Web Content Management System (UWCMS), is powered by MySource Matrix. It is a fully browser-based system, supported by Web & Learning Services and the software developer Squiz.
MySource Matrix delivers a flexible content management environment including tools such as metadata, accessibility checking, audit trails and workflow.
As the system is browser based, it does't require any software installation.
The UWCMS allows users to update and maintain their own content. Although the fundamental design and templates are still developed and authorised by Web and Learning Services content editors have the flexibility of styling their content within the framework of the Web Services Style Guidelines.
Easy Edit Suite, a simple editing interface in MySource Matrix, accommodates editors who primarily need to add and maintain content. It offers staff the ability to make changes in a simplified environment without the need of extensive training and knowledge of web practices.
The UWCMS Easy Edit Suite can be accessed by staff that have successfully completed the mandatory training requirements and have authorisation from HOS.
The UWCMS Advanced Editing interface is only accessible by staff who are required to administer their sites and have completed the mandatory training requirements, have extensive computer experience and have authorisation from HOS.
Web and Learning Services provides ongoing support and training for staff. Regular training sessions for Control Panel and Advanced Editing are conducted at Cradle Coast, Newnham and Sandy Bay campuses. For further details or to register, refer to training, workshops and forums.
Please contact Web Services and we can discuss your site requirements.
