ITS through Web Services provides UTAS organisational units a website development service. All UTAS website development must be undertaken via this service.

Under the Web Publishing Guidelines (PDF 478.7KB), websites hosted with UTAS that do not meet the Category 1 guidelines will be classified in another category - 2, 3, or 5.These sites are not in the standard UTAS design template. All work on sites in these categories is subject to cost recovery charges.

Standard service includes

• Website template development (cost recovery)
• Content migration (cost recovery)
• Hosting (cost recovery)
• Access to the University Web Content Management System (UWCMS)
• Training in Writing of the Web & the UWCMS (mandatory for ongoing site access)
• Quality assurance and compliance with Web Publishing Guidelines (PDF 478.7KB) (cost recovery).

This service does not include:

• Content development and management
• Editing and proofreading of user-provided content
• Ongoing website maintenance.

How to request this service

• This service can be requested by contacting the Service Desk.

Customer responsibilities

• Please report any service failure or interruption, to the Service Desk
• Staff must familiarise themselves with the UTAS ICT Services and Facilities Use Agreement (PDF 51.5KB) in regard to the appropriate use of this service
• Staff should be familiar with, and be prepared to act within, the UTAS Web Policy (PDF 106.4KB) and Web Publishing Guidelines (PDF 478.7KB) with regards to all websites representing UTAS.
