University Card System (UCS)

About The University Card System (UCS)

The UCS encompasses the University of Tasmania ID Card production system and associated services such as the Copying and Printing System (CAPS).

The UTas ID Card

The UTas ID Card is issued to all students as part of the enrolment process and to new staff members on commencement with the University. Staff and students can use their ID Cards to borrow books from the University Library and to access pre-paid photocopying and printing services on campus (CAPS). ID Cards are also used for security purposes, examination entry and for receiving concessions.

The Copying and Printing System (CAPS)

CAPS is a service of the UCS and provides a centrally managed copying and printing solution to the University. The CAPS service is facilitated by the ID Card which is used for adding funds to your CAPS account and to authenticate usage of CAPS devices such as copier and microform terminals. The account lnked to the ID Card is accessed via a username and password when initiating a print job to a CAPS printer queue.

Meal Manager

The Meal Manager system provides an authenticated meal charging method for Accommodation Services dining halls. Meal Manager accounts are only available to qualified Accommodation Services residents.
