Industry internships are an important component of the JMC program, at all levels of study. Our program has extensive experience at successfully placing students with industry, and maintains close links with industry in Tasmania and interstate. More than half of our programs’ teaching staff have worked in the media industry. Each year, we aim to place at least 40 students with our industry partners.

There are a growing number of internship scholarships associated with this program. In 2008, the value of internship scholarships totalled $54,000.
Funding
All Postgraduate by Coursework students receive a one-off $30.00 photocopying allowance for the Morris Miller Library to assist them with their studies.
JMC Scholarships:
The Advocate newspaper, based in Burnie, offers a $1500 scholarship to undergraduate students, from the north-west of Tasmania, entering their third year of the major in Journalism, Media and Communications.
