Feed Your Mind, Feed The World Camp 2017

Feed your mind, feed the world is a three day camp experience for Year 11 and 12 students wanting to learn about exciting career opportunities in agricultural science.

The camp is held in beautiful north-west Tasmania by the University of Tasmania’s School of Land and Food, which is responsible for teaching agricultural science.

Each day we will visit a diverse selection of agriculture industries, many of whom are national and international leaders in their field and are employing agricultural graduates.

Who can apply?

The camp is free to attend and open to Year 11 and 12 students who have an interest in agricultural, biological, chemical, and environmental science and would like to see the exciting and rewarding careers available to those who study agriculture at the University.

When

The camp runs for three days from 11-13 December 2017.

Where

The camp is run on the beautiful north-west Tasmania at Camp Clayton in Ulverstone. We will have exclusive use of the facility for the two nights. Students will share dormitories and all meals are provided. Each day we will engage with the agricultural industry and return to camp each evening.

Getting there

A bus will leave Hobart on the morning of 11 December. We will also have a pick up point in Campbell Town and others can meet us at Camp Clayton. A bus will be available to take students home on 13 December.

Cost

The camp is free to attend.

Scholarships

Three scholarships will be awarded at the end of the camp to attend a five day industry placement in January for one student from the south, one from central Tasmania and one from northern Tasmania.
