Professor Chalmers is one of the founding members of the CLG. He was the Director of the CLG for twenty years, from 1994 until early 2015. During this time, some of the Professor's key appointments and awards, which have seen his research translate through to practical and policy implications include:

Notably, as chair of the AHEC, Professor Chalmers represented AHEC on first World Summit of National Bioethics Commissions held in San Francisco in 1996. The summits have been held every two years since that time; Chalmers also attended in Tokyo, 1998, and then in London, 2000.

Research Interests

Medical research ethics; ethical legal and social implications of human genetics and its translation to practice; and stem cell technology.
