The UTAS Animal Law Conference 2013 was Tasmania’s first animal law conference, hosted by the UTAS Faculty of Law with the support of Voiceless, the animal protection institute. Held in January 2013, the Conference attracted speakers and participants from almost every state/territory in Australia from a variety of disciplines and organisations.
As a result of the Conference, a number of new initiatives are underway at both the national and state levels, and the Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that the State’s first animal law unit will be offered in 2014.
