The University of Tasmania and specifically, the Law Faculty has welcomed international students from all parts of the world since the early 1900s. As the International Students’ Officer of the Tasmanian University Law Society, it is my honour to welcome you to your first step into a legal career.
Besides achieving academic excellence during your time in University, I think it is crucial that students, especially international students, take the opportunity to live in the moment and take it all surrounding experiences.
The Tasmanian University Law Society (TULS) is run by law students themselves, and plays a big role in providing you with just that. They have consistently provided students with opportunities to participate in activities from social events to educational seminars and competitions, and even excursions to explore Tasmania. Based on my time and experience in the Law Faculty, I suggest you GET AMONGST IT ALL!
Last but not least, the responsibility of the International Students’ Officer is to cater to the needs of international students. So, the upcoming International Students’ Officer for the year 2013 and I will be happy to be at your service and your first-point should any concerns arise in your time here.
