The most rewarding experiences I've had at the law school in my final academic year was to do with mooting and writing a supervised research paper. It was a little scary at first to participate in the mooting seminars in Constitutional Law 2 and also the Faculty moot but over time, I actually started to enjoy myself a little. In the end, it was actually fun to do and I managed to overcome my fears of public speaking!
Writing a supervised research paper was fun as well because I could write about what I was interested in, which was human trafficking. And it was good training because it made me learn how to choose a topic on my own, define it for research and work on my own schedule. I believe this would hold me in good stead as I am currently waiting to begin postgraduate research under human rights law, specifically child trafficking.
Besides that, the numerous friendships I have made here in the law school have proven invaluable. We've all had great fun studying and hanging out together. I am sure all the friendships I have fostered here in UTAS will all last for a lifetime.
