Christine graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Commerce and a first class honours degree in Law. Before going into academia, she practised law at Blake Dawson in Brisbane (now Ashursts) and Slaughter and May in London, specialising in mergers and acquisitions.
Christine now teaches and researches in the law of private obligations. She was awarded a BCL with first class honours at Oxford University in 1998 (after being awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship) and completed her PhD at ANU under the supervision of Professors Jane Stapleton and Peter Cane in 2012. Christine's PhD thesis was titled 'Strict liability for the wrongdoing of another in tort'.
