Supo Owoeye obtained his LL.B(Hons) degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria's premier university in 2007. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2008. Supo was involved in legal practice in Nigeria for a while and wrote a book on the Nigerian legal system before he decided to pursue a postgraduate research degree in law. He commenced his postgraduate programme at the University of Tasmania as a Master of Laws (LL.M Thesis) candidate before he was upgraded to the PhD candidature. Supo is currently pursuing a PhD with research focus on the connection between the international patent system and the ability to have access to affordable medicines in developing countries. He has presented papers from his research at different international conferences in Australia, Europe and New Zealand.
