On Friday 8 May the Law Faculty hosted a visit of the Honourable Michael Kirby AC CMG, Adjunct Professor with the Faculty. He was a panel member for a Clarity/26TEN (plain English) breakfast co-hosted by the Faculty and Law Society of Tasmania. Prof Kirby presided at a student prize ceremony for 2016 prize recipients (photo). He also presented a lecture to law students in Foundations of Public Law on the role human rights, hosted a postgraduate roundtable discussion and met with the student Editorial Board of the Faculty’s Journal of Law Information and Science (he is Chairman of the board.) Prof Kirby also held a clinical legal education forum, Learning to be a Lawyer, for undergraduate clinical legal education students and junior members of the profession, followed by a meet and greet, including Faculty staff supported by the Law Society of Tasmania.
