Dr Kerryn Brent represented the Faculty of Law and UTAS at the national 5 Minute Research Pitch Competition, hosted by Central Queensland University in Melbourne. Researchers from seven Australian universities had 5 minutes to pitch their research to a non-expert audience. Competitors were judged on their communication skills and ability to ‘sell’ the importance of their research.
Kerryn competed in the category of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research pitch was titled Understanding how international law can govern negative emissions. Kerryn recently completed her PhD at UTAS Faculty of Law and is now a law lecturer.
Kerryn won 1st place in her category and $1000 at the UTAS finals.
Kerryn won 3rd place in her category and $500 at the national finals.
