Online materials developed by you are protected under the Copyright Act 1968 and the Amendments made to that Act.
Also note that course material provided through WebCT has a deal of security — only students enrolled in the unit can access those materials.
As a general rule, the University will assert ownership of IP created by staff in the normal course of their employment. This includes course material developed to fulfill the University's teaching function. For a full explanation see the UTAS Intellectual Property Policy (PDF 220KB).
A number of issues regarding student privacy arise when students access and interact with a online course in MyLO. These issues are addressed in the University of Tasmania MyLO Privacy Statement.
