MyLO has a variety of approaches for communication, and this can occur both within a unit, as well as more broadly across UTAS. You may need to find the information being communicated to you by the lecturer and tutors of one of your units, or you may wish to communicate with your friends who are studying different units from you.

• There are a number of places within the MyLO environment from which you can send Email to your classmates and teachers. Email sent to you from MyLO will appear in your UTAS webmail inbox, and cannot be accessed from within MyLO.
• You can Chat with your classmates, and keep a record of the session. You can exchange Instant Messages with friends from outside of your Unit using the Pager tool.
• Discussions are a commonly used tool within a unit to help students develop critical thinking skills by exchanging ideas about readings and lectures, as well as a good place to ask and answer FAQs.
• The News that appears on the unit homepage is where your lecturer is likely to provide you with updates and let you know about any changes to the unit.
• From the My Home page you can use the Blogs tool to share with other MyLO users information on topics that interest you.
