AUSTRALASIAN PROFESSIONAL LEGAL EDUCATION COUNCIL CONFERENCE
The Australasian Professional Legal Education (APLEC) Conference will be hosted by the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course in Hobart between 8th and 10th November 2012. The conference is open to anyone with an interest in professional legal education.
The APLEC conference has established itself as the principal means which by those involved in professional legal education meet with colleagues and explore topical issues. This conference theme is Train the Trainer. We have a range of tailor made sessions that will leave you with practical and thought provoking ideas on course design, delivery techniques and teaching skills.
Conference Highlights will include:
- Keynote address by Professor Peter Lyons of CPD Training (UK) ‘CPD Training (UK)’ who will also deliver an interactive workshop on course design;
- A vigorous panel discussion on advocacy training chaired by His Excellency, The Hon Peter Underwood, AC, Governor of Tasmania with The Hon Justice Blow, OAM, Prof Peter Lyons and Magistrate Peter Dixon;
- TEQSA Commissioner Eric Mayne; and
- Teaching and Facilitation Techniques for Keeping Learners Engaged workshop with John Hanley, Principal Learning and Development Officer, Human Resources, Legal Aid, Queensland.
