CLIB 2001

CLIB 2001 provides access to all 2001 Census Community Profile data and Classification Counts. New to CLIB 2001 is a drill-down map for selecting areas, and a topic list to assist in selecting tables from the Community Profiles.

CLIB is available on a CD-ROM, which may only be used in the library.

Accessing CLIB

• Place the CD-ROM into the computer

• Click on theCLIB 2001 shortcut on the desktop

• This will open the program in Internet Explorer, Web browser application

Getting Started with CLIB 2001

NB. Below is a copy of the CLIB instructions which are provided on the CD-ROM at:-

There are 2 ways of accessing data in CLIB 2001. Which are both available from the CLIB Home page

1. Selecting a region from a drill down map interface (See the section Selecting Geography in the full Users Manual for details.) Then selecting the tables you wish to view (See the sections 'Selecting Tables by Topic' and 'Selecting Tables by Community Profile')

2. Selecting Classification Counts (See the section 'Classification Counts' in the full Users Manual for details.)

Two easy steps to using the drill down maps

Ensure that the "See Regions in Detail" radio button is selected. This allows you to drill down to smaller geographical regions. You can continue to drill down map until you find the region you wish to select.

Once you have found the region you wish to select, click on the "Select a Region" radio button then click on the region you wish to select on the map or the text tree. Once a region is selected it will change colour to show that it has been selected.

Note: If the "Select a Region" radio button is selected. You will no longer be able to drill down the map. If you select the "Select a Region" radio button and you then decide you want to drill further down the map click on the "See Regions in Detail" radio button to enable you to drill down the map again.

The map icons

Back one level through maps.
Back to Australia map.
Select all of Australia as your region.
Clear all selected regions.
Zoom in on map instructions.
Zoom out on map instructions.
Pan Across Map instructions.
Search For Region By Name.

Census Maps on CD-ROM

When using tables at the Collection District (CD) level it is helpful to use the 2001 Census maps supplied to libraries with the CLIB 2001 release.

These maps are a useful tool when used in combination with CLIB 2001. The maps display comprehensive topographic information for confirmation of the exact areas.

Tips for printing from CLIB 2001

You can view and print individual tables by clicking on the links under the Tables section.
