TasDance

TasDance was established in Launceston in 1981 as Australia's first dance-in-education company. Under the artistic direction of Jenny Kinder, TasDance developed a unique Schools Residency Programme, through which the company became renowned for its dedication and innovation both in dance education and artistic development.

The company under new artistic director, Annie Greig, continues to focus on presenting high quality Australian choreography and on developing audiences for contemporary dance in Tasmania and around Australia. TasDance has appeared at various arts festivals in its home state and throughout Australia, at the World Youth Festival held in Christchurch, New Zealand, at the World Dance Alliance in Beijing (1994), in New York at The Kitchen (1995), and the Asia Pacific Performing Arts Network in Korea (2002) and India (2003).
