The RDDS provides a central institutional repository that houses UTAS research data descriptions (ie metadata) for global discoverability.
It contains research data records relevant to UTAS research - linking researchers to their datasets and associated research activities and outputs (such as journal publications).
Why Establish a Central Metadata Repository?
Metadata Repository
The metadata repository is easy to use. It allows researchers to notify Library staff about new datasets or data collections that they would like to publish, in order to promote their research, their researcher profile and the University.
The repository and its associated metadata is managed by the Library and maintained by IT Services. The published records meet the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) requirements for sharing on the national data portal Research Data Australia (RDA), thereby making UTAS research data globally discoverable, accessible and shareable.
