Electronic Books (e-books)
How do I find journal articles (Databases)?
The Library holds journals in print and electronic formats. The
best way to access articles in these journals is by using the databases
listed below. When you find an article you want to read, use the
Library Catalogue
and the E-journals
list to see if we hold a print copy or have access to the electronic
copy in full-text. Some databases listed will have direct links
to the full-text article.
Search across many research databases simultaneously
CrossSearch |
UTAS Library software where you can choose databases from a subject category list and search them simultaneously to find journal articles. Citations are matched for availablility of full-text articles or against the UTAS Library catalogue for print versions. You can also create personal collections of databases and automatic search alerts.

How do I cite and manage my information resources
Below are guides to citation styles and other aspects of presentation. Always check with your lecturer on the preferred citation style to use in creating bibliographies and in-text referencing. The School of Nursing & Midwifery uses the modified Harvard (Author- Date) system outlined in the Guide to the presentation of assignments. However units taught by other schools (such as Sociology & Social Work and Human Life Sciences) may recommend other citation styles.
EndNote is personal bibliographic software used to
manage your sources when undertaking in-depth research. The Library
provides training in EndNote for postgraduates and staff.
