The UTAS Library uses recycled paper in all copiers and printers. The paper is manufactured from post-consumer waste (collected from office waste). In addition, we provide a free scanning service from the colour Multi-Function Devices.
All copiers can be set to copy on both sides and the two pages into one option is linked directly from the copier display.
We recycle all copier and printer toner cartridges and provide paper recycling bins.

UTAS staff and students can use their Student ID card to print and photocopy in any library.
Members of the public can buy a photocopy card for $2 from one of the "coin cashiers" located in each library.
Please note that the "coin cashiers" do not give change and there are no refunds from the Photocopy cards.
A purchased card initially has $0.96 credit on it and the balance pays for the purchase of the reusable card.
The cost of copying and printing is deducted from credit you have added to your student ID card or photocopy card purchased from a "coin cashier" unit.
Adding value to your card
To add credit to your card please follow the instructions on the "coin cashier" or you can add credit
via or via EFTPOS ( assisted or self serve ) at any UTAS library branch.
Using your card
After you have added credit to your card you are ready to use the copiers and printers. Each copier is fitted with a card reader unit.Swipe your card on the reader unit and enter your PIN number. If it is the first time you have used the system, it will ask you to create a PIN for your account. After this it will display the value on the card. This will reduce as you copy or print.
The Library has several Multifunctional Devices (known as MFDs)
Photocopiers that in addition can print and scan documents in both colour and "black and white" (B+W)
