The Library is committed to assisting users with special needs. If you need help, please ask and we will be happy to assist:
The Library can help retrieve and photocopy library items, or can arrange for special study conditions. Contact the Client Services Desk in your Library to find out more.
Students and staff registered with the University as having special needs due to a disability are also eligible for our Flexible Library Services.
Information about other ways the University can help users with special needs is available from the Disability Services web page.
The Launceston and Morris Miller libraries have lifts that can be used by students to access all floors of the library. The Clinical Library has lift access to the library, from the UTAS carpark under the building.
The Launceston, Morris Miller, Art, Clinical and Science libraries have toilets suitable for wheelchair access.
All computers in libraries have the assistive software suite – JAWS, Zoom text and Read-n-Write Gold.
For information about how the library can help users with special needs, ask at any of our libraries.
