Any University of Tasmania student or staff member and Special Borrowers can use the Intercampus Book Request service.
You will need your University of Tasmania student or staff ID number and your Library PIN. Note: Special Borrowers will need the barcode number (numerals only) on their Library Card and the number they selected as a PIN during registration. (Need a Library PIN - click on Don't know your PIN? to create one)

If you are not part of the University of Tasmania user community, you will need to use your local document delivery/interlibrary loan service to obtain items from the University of Tasmania.
All books, CDs, DVDs, Kits, etc on shelf or on loan may be requested via the Library Catalogue. Theses may also be requested and are available for consultation within the library only.
Exceptions apply to:
Journal articles in print publications and sections of books that are not available for loan may be requested using the Intercampus Article Request service via the Library Home page.
The total number of requests any patron can make is 15.
All borrowers may request items that are 'on loan' or items 'available' held in libraries on other University of Tasmania campuses.
1. Search the Library Catalogue for an item
2. Select Request it
3. Enter your ID number from your UTAS ID card and your Library PIN, click Submit Query

4. Select your pick up location and click Submit
5. Protect your account always - Logout
6. Watch for the e-mail saying it's available

When the requested item is available for pickup, you will be notified by e-mail. Requested items will be held at the pickup location for 5 days (normal loan items) or for 2 days (3 day loan items). For registered Flexible Library Services borrowers, requested items are posted to their delivery address.
You can manage your requests using My Library via the Library home page. You will need your Student or Staff ID number and Library PIN.

Students and staff who meet specific criteria (including staff and students at the Cradle Coast Campus) may register for Flexible Library Services. Flexible Library Services clients receive library materials mailed directly to their personal address. Additional days are added to the loan period to cover the anticipated mailing time.
To request an item be mailed directly to their personal address, Flexible Library Services clients must select Flexible as the pickup location. Please note theses are for use within a library only.
Items may be returned in person at any UTAS Library, the Devonport Polytechnic Library located at 20 Valley Road, Devonport, or via Australia Post (at the borrower's expense).
Clients may have a total of 15 requests outstanding at any one time. These guidelines do not include requests for journal articles, which are handled through the Intercampus Article Request process. If more items are required, please contact Flexible Library Services staff for assistance
