You will need to ask your own university, public or state library to obtain items from the University of Tasmania on your behalf.
Use your ID number from your UTAS ID card and Library PIN to request books and other items in the Library Catalogue. You can view and manage your requests through your My Library account in the Library Catalogue. Basic instructions are provided in this Do It Yourself help sheet (PDF 1.2MB).
The total number of items any patron can request at one time is 15.
You may request items that are 'on loan' or items 'available' in other University of Tasmania libraries.
When the item is available for pickup, you will be notified by e-mail.
Requested items will held for collection for 5 days (normal loan items) or for 2 days (3 day loan items).
For registered Flexible Library Services borrowers, requested items are posted to your delivery address.
Items that are NOT available to request include, items on Reserve and Reference items. You can request a photocopied section from a Reserve or Reference item (within copyright conditions) by using the Inter-Campus Article request form.
Selected high demand journal articles and book chapters from unit reading lists are available from Reading Lists.
To request a journal article or book chapter, use the Inter-Campus Request for a Journal Article or Book Chapter form.
Staff and postgraduate students can use our Document Delivery service to request items the University of Tasmania Library does not hold.
