Most Reserve Items that are available for 2 hour loan during the day may be borrowed overnight within 2 hours of ibrary closing time.
Reserve items are available for loan from the library in which they are located; they cannot be requested for collection from other libraries or via Flexible Library Services.
Reserve items must be returned to the library from which they have been borrowed.
You can renew items you have on loan by going to the catalogue and selecting My Library.
An item you have on loan may be recalled before the original due date if it is requested by another client. You will be notified by email if the loan period is reduced. If the loan period has been reduced you will have 7 days to return the item to the library. Note: Flexible Borrowers have 10 days to return a recalled item to allow for postage.
Note: If there are already requests on an item you borrow the loan period will be automatically set to 7 days. If you have placed a request/recall on an item you will be notified by e-mail when it is ready to collect. You will have 5 days to collect a low demand item and 2 days to collect a 3 day loan item.
You can return most items to any library service point using the appropriate return chute.
Reserve items however must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed.
An after-hours return chute is available in most libraries.
Non-reserve items may also be returned to the Polytechnic Library in Devonport. Please note that the return chute at both the Art Library and the Clinical Library are only accessible when the building is open. The Music Library does not have an after-hours return chute.
Items must be renewed or returned by the due date. It is the borrower's responsibility to note the due date and return the items on time. Responsibility for all material issued rests with the person named on the ID card unless the card's loss was reported to the library prior to the date the material was borrowed.
An account for the replacement cost of the item and a processing fee of $30 will be emailed to your UTAS email address.
