Tour of the Morris Miller Library

The Morris Miller Library has five levels. - floor plan

Level One

Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching - CALT

Level Two

 

The entrance level for Library users:

  • Client Services Desk Printing accounts, e-mail passwords, basic enquiries, borrow and return loan items, enquire about any aspect of borrowing. 
  • Reserve area, housing high use course material, and reserve loans desk. The Reserve area contains 3 photocopiers and catalogue computers. Reference collection - dictionaries, encyclopaedias, directories, atlases, Who's Whos and other essential reference material. There are also study tables in this area.
  • Document Delivery Service.
  • Learning Hub:
  • Wire and Wireless network for laptops.
  • 18 PCs and 3 MACs that can be booked.  
  • 2 black and white laser printers and one colour laser printer and a scanner.
  • Displays (current serials and new books)
  • Current newspapers
  • E Lab 1 (for student use unless class booking) E Lab 2 (for student use unless class booking)
  • Group Study Rooms 1 & 2
  • Library help and IT support
  • 3 Catalogue computers
  • Library self -check machine
  • CAPS coin machines (for topping up printing/photocopying accounts)
  • Self -serve EFTPOS (no cash - out facilities available)
  • 1 Photocopier.

Level Three

  • Learning Hub: Laser printers are available in this area.
  • Wired and Wireless network for laptops.
  • Folio collection.
  • Books (Call numbers  JC 100 to Z)
  • Curriculum collection
  • Audiovisual materials (videos, kits, DVDs etc) 
  • Three group study rooms
  • 3 Catalogue computers
  • 2 Photocopiers

Level Four


Note: Level Four is a silent study area

  • Books (Call numbers A to JC 99)
  • Serials (Journals)
  • Two group study rooms
  • Sound  carrells: contains TV, Video and DVD (where audiovisual materials connected with units can be used.
    ( Not for general entertainment use)
  • Quiet study carrells
  • 6 bookable computers
  • 3 Catalogue computers
  • 2 Photocopiers.
