The University of Tasmania Library should supply the majority of
University science students' library requirements and students and staff
should exhaust these resources before seeking access to other libraries.
The extent to which libraries outside the University system can provide
assistance to University personnel varies. These libraries must serve
their own organisation and although most libraries are willing to assist
users from elsewhere, some access restraints are given in this list. Resources
from most of the other libraries listed in this Guide are available
on interlibrary loan and in most cases this should be the preferred method
of accessing those resources.
