Project title: Diffusion and Implementation of New Technologies

Abstract

The aim of this research is to ascertain and analyse the steps taken by organisations in sectors such as mining that make it possible for them to adopt new technologies, processes or procedures (i.e. innovations) in ways that will improve the efficiency, effectiveness and, where relevant, profitability of their operations Although there has been a great deal of investigation of the learning practices of organisations in recent years, relatively little is known about the use of newly-acquired knowledge. This gap needs to be filled as knowledge that is not used is of comparatively little value from a management standpoint.
