On successful completion of an undergraduate degree in business, students have the opportunity to undertake an Honours degree which will give them a competitive edge. The Honours degree represents elite academic performance and is recognised nationally and internationally. The Honours program provides an advanced year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) specialised study in an area of interest. By undertaking a mix of taught units and an independent research project, students develop their research and analytical skills and gain an employment advantage over other graduates.
Honours programs may be available in the areas of accounting, corporate governance, entrepreneurship, human resource management, management, marketing, international business and tourism. Students who complete a Finance major may apply to enter the Bachelor of Economics (Honours) program. Students who undertake either of the eBusiness or Management of Information Systems majors may apply to enter the Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) which is offered by the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.
On successful completion of the degree, honours graduates may choose to enter the workforce or continue to postgraduate studies, or do both through part-time postgraduate studies.
