The Medical Education unit is responsible for the design, development and ongoing maintenance of the MBBS curriculum.
Our work focuses on scholarship in medical education and its practical application to the medical course at the University of Tasmania. Research, teaching and learning activities in the MEU are closely related and inform each other. Interests include curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, ethics and disability, the consumer voice in health care and oral health education.
Staff activities range across teaching, research, administration and service to the profession and community.
This year staff have been actively involved in the national and international medical education community. In 2010, we were involved in the Leadership & Practice Development in Health Conference, held in Hobart, and in 2009 with the organisation of the Australian New Zealand Association for Medical Education (ANZAME) conference held in Launceston.
