The School of Medicine has an excellent reputation for both Teaching and Learning coupled with world-class Research. The School is based in Hobart’s Medical Science Precinct, with Clinical Schools associated with the Royal Hobart Hospital and Launceston General Hospital, and in campuses throughout Tasmania and in Sydney.
The School offers undergraduate degrees in Medicine (MBBS), Paramedic Practice and Biotechnology and Medical Research. Research Honours programs can lead to exciting research careers. Our coursework postgraduate courses build the capacity of health professionals in areas of Clinical Supervision, Health Service Management and Public Health.
Now HECS Free
The School offers a conversion pathway for currently practicing paramedics to upgrade their qualifications to the Bachelor of Paramedic Practice. This pathway is offered HECS Free under a partnership with Ambulance Tasmania and NSW Ambulance Service.
WHO-CIDI ATRC Training
The Australasian CIDI Training and Resource Centre provided training on the WHO Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI). CIDI is a standardised interview used to assess mental disorders.
