Terms of Reference

The function of the School Teaching and Learning Committee is to provide advice to the School Executive on quality assurance in learning and teaching, including:

• proposals for new courses
• amendments to existing courses
• academic assessment
• course evaluation
• promotion of good teaching and learning
• prizes and scholarships, and
• teaching and learning issues

This advice is to assist the Executive in:

• providing leadership in learning and teaching across the School
• monitoring Tasmanian and National events within health care and medical education to plan strategically for development, maintenance and review of school curricula
• monitoring quality, planning improvements and learning outcomes in courses and teaching across the School
• initiating and supporting teaching and learning developments and scholarship within the School
• promoting and supporting Teaching Excellence Awards, Teaching Development Grants and Teaching Merit Certificates
• facilitate deployment and allocation of teaching resources within the School, and
• ensure compliance with University Ordinances, Rules, Policies and Procedures
