The Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Conversion) will facilitate currently practicing paramedics transition to the Bachelor of Paramedic Practice Degree. The course is made up of a number of paramedic specific units and additional health care units. The paramedic specific units are delivered by experienced paramedics and expand on existing knowledge in areas such as health, clinical assessment, clinical skills, pharmacology clinical research and professionalism. The additional units provide important health care education and professional skills which are delivered by other schools within the Faculty of Health Science.

Why Upgrade to a Bachelor Degree?
The Council of Ambulance Authorities has expressed the Bachelor Degree as the base educational level for future paramedic practice. Paramedic practice is a rapidly expanding profession, completion of a bachelor degree will allow graduates to increase their professional knowledge and standing, and access ongoing professional qualifications at higher degree levels.
Delivery Model
This online-learning course is offered by the School of Medicine and is suitable for students studying from distant locations within Australia. It supports students to find balance within their work, study and personal lives by providing flexible delivery, using web-based learning environments, with optional residentials in some units.
Entry Requirements
Entry into the Bachelor of Paramedic Practice (Conversion) is restricted to qualified paramedics who have graduated from any of the following:
- Diploma of Paramedical Science (national qualification)
- Advanced Diploma of Paramedical Science (national qualification)
- Associate Degree in Paramedic Studies (UTAS)
- Must be currently employed as a paramedic or regular Australian Army, Navy or Airforce advanced medic
- This course is not available to international students
