The School of Medicine has an excellent reputation for study coupled with world-class research. The School is based in Hobart’s Medical Science Precinct, with Clinical Schools associated with the Royal Hobart Hospital and Launceston General Hospital, and in campuses throughout Tasmania and in Sydney.
The University of Tasmania's Associate Degree in Dementia Care is the first course of its kind in Australia. The course will improve understanding of the degenerative brain processes associated with dementia and will relate this to providing the very best approach to care.
The School offers undergraduate degrees in Medicine (MBBS), Paramedic Practice and Biotechnology and Medical Research. Research Honours programs can lead to exciting research careers. Our coursework postgraduate courses build the capacity of health professionals in areas of Clinical Supervision, Health Service Management and Public Health.
Patient Partner Program
The Patient Partner Program brings a patient-centred approach to medical education at the School of Medicine. We are seeking volunteers to partner with students and be part of this program.
