Based in the state-of-the-art Medical Science Precinct in Hobart's CBD with Clinical Schools associated with the Royal Hobart Hospital and Launceston General Hospital, and teaching in many campuses throughout Tasmania and into Sydney, the Division of Medicine at the University of Tasmania has an excellent reputation for both Teaching and Learning coupled with world-class Research. The Faculty of Health's Medicine delivers two undergraduate degrees:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
- Bachelor of Biotechnology and Medical Research (in partnership with the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology)

Medicine also has a growing program of postgraduate coursework and research degrees. Research Honours programs at Medicine can lead to further postgraduate training and exciting research careers. Our coursework postgraduate offerings focus on building the capacity of health professionals in areas of Clinical Supervision, Health Service Management and Public Health.
Medicine has a number of innovative programs related to the education of health professionals along with leading research teams that are working in areas such as biomedical research, clinical research and health services research.
Medicine has many educational and research collaborations within the Faculty of Health and throughout the University, particularly with the Rural Clinical School based in Burnie, Nursing and Midwifery and the Menzies Research Institute Tasmania. Health degree programs are generously supported by the wider community of clinicians throughout Tasmania, as well as the key public and private health providers of the State.
