Neuroscience is the study of how nervous systems work, how they are organised and how they develop and change.
Neuroscientists study normal function, diseases and disorders in humans and other animals.
Neuroscience provides scientific knowledge crucial to neurology and neuropsychology, and helps explain many aspects of human and animal behaviour.
This site is intended for students interested in studying neuroscience, members of the public who might have an interest in the brain or its diseases, and UTAS staff and students who work in neuroscience-related fields. Neuroscience is offered as part of several degree courses at UTAS, which can lead to postgrad research projects in conjunction with the Menzies Research Institute Tasmania.
