Third-year medical students from the School of Medicine presented their research and health promotion projects at the recent RACGP Annual Scientific Convention (GP11) held in Hobart.
Katie Daw, Sally Peacock, Matilda Mackay-Sim, Alex Willows, Sadhish Sreedharan, Arpit Talwar, Brita Mahoney, Joann Pinto and Braden Young were offered the opportunity by winning the 3rd-Year Primary Care Research and Health Promotion Project Presentations for 2011.
The students showcased their projects to a receptive audience as part of a Student Presentations session and were well appreciated, especially by the session facilitator who was excited to see interest and enthusiasm in the students.
All third-year medical students have the opportunity to design a Primary Care research or health promotion project as part of their Primary Care rotation.
The students’ attendance at the conference was sponsored by Primary Health Care Research, Evaluation and Development (PHCRED).
