General Responsibilities
Assoc Prof Couser has had a long interest in medical education, having been one of the principal architects of the current 5 year course. He is the section editor for education and training for the journal Emergency Medicine Australasia and he has co-authored textbooks integrating clinical practice with biomedical sciences.
He developed and introduced the undergraduate term in emergency medicine at the Hobart Clinical School. He has a broad interest in the links between biodiversity and human health, and to this end he is helping to preserve Tasmania's biodiversity. He is vice-president of the Tasmanian Land Conservancy.
Teaching Responsibilities
Responsible for transition to practice teaching in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
