General Responsibilities
Ms Ikin has been recently appointed as the Medical Education Officer at the LGH, a new role for the hospital but one which has been well established in many mainland states.
Although some aspects of the role vary from state to state and from hospital to hospital, her role as MEO has two main aspects relating to the co-joint nature of the role.
She is essentially concerned with facilitation of hospital-based education in the Launceston Clinical School for year 5 and 6 medical students working with staff on issues relating to teaching methodology, curriculum design and evaluation, and to implement staff-development programs to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the Launceston Clinical School.
