Medical students from UTAS and other universities frequently go to Fiji for their elective.
While any student can arrange to undertake their elective in Fiji, students from the Launceston Clinical School have special arrangements which give them greater access to certain elective posts in this country. Contact Dr Nick Cooling (Nick.Cooling@utas.edu.au) for details.
For direct application to the public hospital (Soldiers Memorial Hospital) in Suva and other hospitals in Fiji, refer to Fiji National University – International Students.
The UTAS School of Medicine is currently in discussions with the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at the Fiji National University around securing an exchange agreement to promote bidirectional mobility of students and staff from both institutions.
