The Short Course Program at the UTAS School of Medicine offers a wide range of professional development opportunities for Health Professionals in Tasmania and beyond. Our innovative, practical, workplace-orientated short courses are delivered by UTAS Faculty members and subject matter experts from various health and corporate organisations across Australia. All of our interactive programs are based on research and contemporary practice and are orientated around assisting Health Professionals to meet their unique learning needs and Professional Development requirements.
Onsite Courses
Our suite of onsite courses are conducted in our state-of-the-art training facilities in Hobart's CBD. Adult Learning principles are applied throughout all stages of course development and delivery which ensures a high level of interaction and enjoyment for our participants. All of our courses are fully evaluated and a certificate of attendance is offered on completion.
Workplace Training
The UTAS School of Medicine Short Course Program can also arrange customised training in the workplace. This option offers an extremely cost-effective and convenient opportunity to meet an organisation’s specific training needs as it facilitates access for program participants and enhances workplace learning cultures. Customised workplace training programs are fully evaluated on completion and the organisation is provided with a full report of the program evaluation results and resultant recommendations.
Accreditation
Where applicable, our short courses will be accredited through affiliated professional organisations, e.g.

- Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
- Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS)
which will offer participants the opportunity to attain CPD/CME points for course attendance. CPD/CME point allocation will be detailed on individual course flyers.
