At present, this course is only available to current employees of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The course utilises online delivery but may include optional workshops and seminars, with alternative videoconferencing arrangements. There are not usually any face-to-face requirements.
You will need to allow approximately 8-10 hours per week for each unit you study.
It is strongly suggested that students, particularly in the first semester, carefully consider their existing work and family commitments. Many students enrol in only one unit until they see how study fits into their daily routines. DHHS may allow you study time, but as a general rule you will still need to set aside considerable time out of hours for your studies.
Units are assessed by a combination of written reports, case studies and essays, combined with occasional online quizzes and contribution to discussion boards. Assessment requirements are clearly explained at the beginning of each unit. There are no formal examinations.
A Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) waiver scholarship will be available to eligible DHHS staff to undertake the 4 x 12.5% units in the Graduate Certificate qualification. Students articulating into the Graduate Diploma and Master programs will be full fee paying students and should refer to the University Course and Unit Handbook for the current year fees.
