The Centre for the Advancement of Learning & Teaching (CALT) offers a postgraduate degree program aimed at enhancing university learning and teaching for health professionals.
The Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching for Health Professionals has been developed in response to demand for a program to meet both the needs of health professionals as clinical teachers and the changing educational requirements of medical, nursing, pharmacy and other professionally accredited health courses.
Course objectives
The objective of the Graduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching for Health Professionals is to enhance learning and teaching at UTAS by:
- fostering deep learning in higher education students through the application of

- theoretical knowledge of how adult students learn
- theoretical and practical knowledge about teaching, assessment, evaluation and curriculum design
- engaging with, and contributing to, the scholarship of teaching through critical reflection, research, peer review and publication
- demonstrating leadership capacity in learning, teaching and mentoring
