Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business degree has a flexible structure that allows students a range of choices in their study program. It consists of 24 units; 8 units completed per year. Students in this program study a common first year, completing 6 core units and choosing 2 elective units (depending on their choice of major/s). Students must complete at least one major within the Faculty of Business and may complete a second major, either within the Faculty of Business or another Faculty. For those students undertaking one major only, the additional units can be chosen from those offered by the Faculty of Business or by other Faculties within the University.

In second and third years, students complete their chosen major/s, a major being a sequence of 8 specialised units. The following are the Majors offered by the School of Management:

Bachelor of Tourism

The Bachelor of Tourism provides a specific course of study for students considering a career in the tourism industry. The degree has a flexible structure consisting of 24 units: 12 core tourism units, plus 8 units that form a complementary major, plus 4 electives. The complementary major could be one from the Faculty of Business, for example, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Business Management. It could also be from other Faculties such as Arts or Science, Engineering and Technology. Electives can be drawn from any degree course offered by the University.

Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality Management)

This an articulated degree that requires the completion of the Drysdale Institute of TAFE Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent as a prerequisite. The Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality Management) provides a sound knowledge of the fundamental principles and concepts of management, a familiarity with significant literature in the field and the ability to review, consolidate, extend and apply the knowledge and techniques so learnt in the hospitality management sector.
