He recently retired as Senior Lecturer in Strings and conducting at the University of Melbourne and now concentrates on conducting and varied community activities. He was appointed conductor of the Australian Doctors' Orchestra for its premiere performance in 1993 and he has continued to have an important role in the organization as it has subsequently developed. He is at present Musical Director of the Chamber Strings of Melbourne, a group of young players aged between 16 and 23. Earlier this year the group toured Russia, Estonia, Finland, Denmark and Holland to great acclaim.

The workshops present a range of teaching approaches involving singing, movement, rhythmic work and games.
