F3K Bachelor of Music (BMus) Course Guide
NB:First year students should enrol in all the units listed in the Year 1 row. Where an elective is listed, students may choose a unit of study, either from the list of Conservatorium electives or from any school within the University, subject to approval from the appropriate school.
FYI:
- For the FCM11x Major Study 1A unit students should enrol in one of the following: FCM110 Orchestral Instruments 1A, FCM111 Keyboard 1A, FCM112 Guitar 1A, FCM113 Voice 1A or FCM114 Composition 1A. In the next unit of study an FCM110 student will enrol in FCM120 Orchestral Instruments 1B, an FCM111 Keyboard 1A will enrol in FCM121 Keyboard and so on.
- Students wishing to complete the degree in the Musicology stream complete 4 units of FCM study (levels 100 and 200) and replace the level 300 FCM units with FCH311 Studies in Musicology and FCH321 Music Research Seminar. NB: These are in addition to the three required FCH Music History units.

Instruments 1A and FCE210 Orchestra A - links to the other Major
Study and Ensemble codes appear immediately below
- The three FCH Music History units rotate with only 1 on offer
in any 1 semester. In 2009 the semester 1 FCH unit is FCH312;
in semeter 2 it will be FCH322
- Contemporary Stream Majors are required to enrol in FCF110
Foundation Audio as their year 1, semester 1 elective;
- Classical Voice Majors are required to enrol in FCB217
Diction as their year 1, semester 1 elective;
- Composition Majors are required to enrol in FCB118
Music Typesetting as their year 1, semester 1 elective
- Contemporary Stream Majors take the FCN coded Core Studies units;
Classical and Composition Majors take the FCC coded Core Studies
