Greg Arnold is the ARIA winning singer-songwriter behind folk rock institution Things of Stone and Wood. He has written over seven top fifty hits (including the summery Happy Birthday Helen) and two top ten albums. He won the prestigious APRA Songwriter of the Year award and has enjoyed consistent radio play for over twenty years.
Greg is also a UTAS PhD candidate. His research focus is songwriting, record production and sub-cultural scenes, but he still likes a gig. This concert will be with The Swamp Dandies, featuring John Bedggood (Bernard Fanning, Casey Chambers and Lior) on fiddle, mandolin and piano and Monique Zucco on drums and vocals. The Swamp Dandies recorded the album Fall (the major recorded work for his PhD). Greg will also be re-visiting some of his earlier songs in this exciting new format with brass and strings.
If you're a music student (songwriting in particular) come along and experience this unique moment in a long and productive career.
